Service Agreement
Terms of Service for Atlanta Plumbing
Our commitment to clear pricing, safety and fair service.
1. Service Call Fees and Pricing
Every service starts with a call-out and diagnostic fee, which is credited toward repair work if you proceed. Emergency calls outside normal business hours carry a premium, typically 1.5× to 2× the standard rate. We confirm the call-out fee before we leave the shop, so you know the cost of having us come out.
Labor is charged by the hour, starting from the time the plumber arrives. Parts are billed at cost plus a standard markup. Materials such as pipe, fittings, water heaters and fixtures are priced at current wholesale rates, and we provide an itemized invoice. For jobs like emergency plumbing ($150–$600), drain cleaning ($150–$500) or leak detection ($150–$800), the final cost depends on how long the work takes and what parts are needed on site.
On arrival, we inspect the problem, shut off water if needed, and provide a written estimate for the permanent repair before we begin. You can approve, decline or ask for options. No work proceeds without your authorization.
2. Emergency and After-Hours Calls
We respond to plumbing emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the Atlanta area. An emergency call includes a service charge, after-hours labor premiums, and any parts needed for a temporary fix to stop the damage.
When you call during nights, weekends or holidays, expect to pay a premium rate in addition to the diagnostic fee. This reflects the cost of keeping trained plumbers on call outside business hours. We stop the water, isolate the leak, make it safe, and give you a written price for the permanent repair.
Temporary repairs made during an emergency visit are designed to hold until the permanent fix can be scheduled during business hours. We recommend scheduling that permanent work as soon as possible to avoid further damage.
3. What Is and Is Not Included in Service
A standard service call includes arrival, diagnosis, shutting off the water, isolating the affected area, an emergency or temporary repair, a written quote for permanent work, cleanup of the work area, and basic advice on drying or contacting your insurance company.
We do not cover damage caused by events outside our control, such as earthquakes, subsidence, main water line failure (which is owned by the water utility), or sewer line damage caused by tree roots or ground movement. We also do not cover pre-existing damage, unpermitted plumbing work done by others, or repairs to gas lines not installed to current code.
If the job requires a building permit from the city or county—such as water heater installation, whole-house repiping, or sewer line repair—we include the cost of permitting in our estimate. Unpermitted work can void insurance claims and complicate home sales, so permits are always recommended and required by law in most cases.
4. Warranties on Parts and Labor
Labor is guaranteed for 30 days from completion. If the repair fails due to our workmanship, we return at no charge to fix it.
Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we pass through to you. Water heaters typically carry a 6- to 12-year tank warranty and a 1- to 3-year parts warranty. Fixtures and fittings carry 1- to 5-year warranties depending on the brand and type. We provide warranty documentation on all parts installed.
Warranty claims require you to notify us in writing within the warranty period and allow us to inspect the problem. If the failure is due to a manufacturing defect, we cover the part replacement and labor. Misuse, neglect, or damage from external causes (flooding, freezing, corrosion from hard water) voids the warranty.
5. Hard Water, Freezing and Maintenance Responsibility
Atlanta area water hardness varies by neighborhood, but many residents have water in the 5–7 grains per gallon (gpg) range. Hard water shortens the life of water heaters and causes scaling inside pipes and fixtures. We recommend a whole-house water softener or filtration system ($1,500–$4,500 installed) if your water hardness exceeds 7 gpg.
Georgia experiences freezing temperatures in winter, particularly in attics, crawl spaces and exterior walls. Burst pipes in these areas are common in January and February. You are responsible for insulating exposed pipes, draining outdoor faucets, and maintaining adequate heat in unheated spaces. We can advise on freeze protection during service calls, but prevention is your responsibility.
Homeowner maintenance—such as cleaning aerators, replacing toilet fill valves, or flushing water heaters annually—extends the life of plumbing systems and prevents emergencies. We can recommend a maintenance schedule during your service visit.
6. Water Utility Line Ownership and Sewer Laterals
Your water utility owns the main water line and the meter. You own everything from the meter into your house, including the service line and all interior plumbing. The water utility is responsible for repairs to the main line.
Similarly, the water utility or county owns the sewer main under the street. You own the sewer lateral—the line from your house to the main. If a sewer backup or odor occurs, we diagnose the problem. If it's in the lateral (your side of the property line), you pay for the repair. If it's in the main, the utility repairs it at no cost.
We recommend you locate your property line and meter before calling us for water or sewer work, so we can quickly determine who is responsible for the repair.
7. Permits and Inspections
Water heater installation, whole-house repiping, gas line work, sewer line repair, and sump pump installation require a building permit from the city or county building department in most cases. We include permitting in our estimate and coordinate inspections.
Unpermitted plumbing work can void your homeowners insurance and create problems when you sell your home. A future buyer's inspector will flag unpermitted work, and lenders may require it to be brought to code at your expense before closing. We always recommend permits and pull them as part of our standard service.
Permit fees vary by job scope and are set by your local building department. We pass the permit cost through to you as part of the job estimate.
8. Cancellation and Rescheduling
If you cancel a non-emergency appointment, we ask for at least 24 hours notice to avoid charging the call-out fee. Emergency calls cannot be canceled once we are en route.
If you reschedule within 24 hours of an appointment, we may charge a rescheduling fee equal to the call-out fee. This reflects the cost of holding a time slot and dispatching the plumber.
Call (833) 640-0288 as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule.
9. Payment Terms
Payment is due when the work is complete. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. For jobs over $2,000, we accept partial payment on completion and the balance within 30 days.
We do not finance plumbing work, but we can recommend third-party financing options if you ask. Sales tax is applied to labor and parts in Georgia.
10. Liability and Property Damage
We carry liability insurance covering injury and property damage caused by our negligence during the work. If we damage your property—such as drywall, flooring, or landscaping—while performing the service, we repair or replace it as part of the job, at no extra charge.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, structural issues, or damage caused by third parties or acts of nature. If a pipe bursts because the house was not maintained and the damage spreads, we are not responsible for the drywall, flooring or contents.
We are not responsible for environmental cleanup, hazardous materials, or mold remediation that may be uncovered during plumbing work. We recommend you contact a specialist if asbestos, lead paint, or mold is present.
11. Licensing and Qualifications
All plumbers working for Anytime Plumbing Atlanta are licensed by the State of Georgia and are required to carry an active plumbing license. You may request our license number at any time; we will provide it.
Georgia plumbing licenses are regulated by the Georgia Construction Industry Licensing Board (GCILB). You can verify our license number and complaint history at the GCILB website.
We comply with all Georgia plumbing code and local Atlanta building code. If a question arises about code compliance, we follow the Georgia Plumbing Code and refer to the latest edition as adopted by the county or city.
12. Water Heater and Fixture Rebates
Many Atlanta-area electric utilities offer rebates for ENERGY STAR heat pump water heaters, typically $200–$1,000 depending on the utility (ENERGY STAR Rebate Finder). Your utility offers specific incentives; we recommend you check your utility's website or call before ordering a new water heater.
Water utilities sometimes offer WaterSense toilet and low-flow fixture rebates, typically $50–$150 per toilet. Check with your water utility for current availability.
Federal tax credits for equipment placed in service after 2025 are not guaranteed. Confirm any federal, state or utility incentives directly with the relevant program before relying on a rebate amount.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately when posted to this website. Your continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
If you do not agree to any change, contact us to discuss alternative arrangements.
